Unprotected Transponder Service
-
An unprotected transponder is one for which a backup is not guaranteed.
-
There could still be a spare amplifier available to restore service in the event of power amplifier failure.
-
The user of such a transponder may not, under normal circumstances, be preempted from service.
- Unprotected transponder service is still a reliable service since failures are rare and preemption is not anticipated.
