With an operating satellite, user terminals can be put into service as quickly as necessary. Of course, the antenna can stay in one place while the satellite tracks with the earth’s rotation overhead.
As with DBS television boxes, a small VSAT terminal can be installed and on the air in a matter of hours. And there are transportable and mobile terminals that can be up and running in minutes.
